Motmot Freshly Roasted Coffee

Motmot is named after the stunning national bird of Nicaragua, the Motmot (Turquoise-browed motmot), or its common name, Guardabarranco.

This medium-roasted coffee is clean, smooth with cocoa and praline flavors with an herbal aftertaste.

PRODECOOP has developed a long line of programs that aim to support its members in many different ways. They can fund these programs using their Fair Trade premium. The initiatives include supporting educational opportunities for children, providing loans to women in and affiliated with the organization, providing cervical-cancer screenings and other health-care services, offering member education regarding pest control and fertilization, and creating and supporting systems to increase food security in the communities.

This coffee is soft in taste, with an apricot sweetness, notes of bergamot, and some background toffee sweetness. We roasted this one carefully and took it to 416 degrees before dropping it, calling it cinnamon to medium roast (or a light-medium roast).
