Holiday Coffee Guide
Maybe we can't agree if the Christmas tree is supposed to be set up before Thanksgiving, or after. Maybe we're shaking things up with a nontraditional Thanksgiving meal (or opting out altogether!).
There's one thing on which we can all agree: this time of year needs coffee. It needs good coffee. We're presenting our Holiday Coffee Guide for those of you observing the festivities - but even if you're not, you'll get some great recommendations. Cheers!
To Start the Day:
We like to kick things off with something neutral good, which is of course our best seller, Dark Horse. If you have family in town and need to accommodate several preferences, or you just need something tasty but without crazy flavor notes, this is your brew. Dark Horse provides enough depth + body to satisfy the darker roast drinkers and it's smooth enough to drink without cream and sugar. One of our signature blends, it's been with us since the beginning of East View and it truly never gets old.
Pre-Dinner and/or Dinner Coffee:
Of course it's time to bring out the Grateful Blend. Year after year we bring this one back, it's one of those seasonal favorites we really look forward to. The winey acidity, the smooth cocoa notes, it's a lovely and flavorful coffee that plays well with rich foods, balancing the sweet and the savory.
The After-Dinner Decaf:
You've got two options here.
You can do the classic dark roast decaf for accompanying your pie and lingering, in which case we're going to highly recommend Smoke & Mirrors. This coffee is named for its bold profile and also for the deception, in that it tastes so smooth and rich, guests will be asking if you're sure you brewed decaf!
If you did dinner a little on the early side or need some extra zip (because that Turkey Tryptophan is hitting you), we'd recommend Cat's Pajamas. Our favorite half-caff coffee is perfect for the mid-afternoon food coma, a vibrant medium roast that will gently see you through the rest of the celebrations but won't keep you up all night.
The Bonus Coffee:
If you need something interesting, unique, impressive in that understated way, look no further than our Pocketful of Sunshine. Maybe you need a host gift or want to offer something a little different - this is your coffee. It's a delightful light roast that has won over many a dark roast coffee lover. The magic is in the Ethiopian natural beans and a roast that emphasizes the low acidity and soft fruits.
We'd love to know if East View made its way into your celebrations. Tag us or drop a comment! Above all, we hope you find yourself someplace warm, holding something warm and know that we're endlessly grateful for you. Thanks for being a part of brewing a brighter future.
