This project has been a long time coming, spurred on by many customers who've reached out ask if we could offer bigger bags of coffee. 12oz packages are great for the average drinker, but some of you are truly extraordinary coffee drinkers and you deserve something special.

You'll see two pricing tiers, because we decided to opt for a subscription model for 5lb bags as well. Set it and forget it! Need 5lb bags of coffee for the home or office every month? A subscription gives you the best pricing as well as the freedom to choose your coffee and your order date. It doesn't get much easier than that.

But how to store it for optimal freshness?

Let's say you order a five-pound bag of Sunrise Tiger. You know you'll drink about a pound a week. Do not just open and close that 5lb bag every day for your brew. Letting all that air in will hasten aging and make your coffee taste stale faster. 

Do portion coffee in advance and put a pound or two in an airtight container, keeping the rest of the coffee properly sealed and squirreled away until you need it. 

Should I keep my coffee in the freezer?

As long as you're brewing and drinking your coffee regularly, that's not necessary. But if you've stocked up and want to preserve the freshness as long as possible - sure! Just make sure it's properly sealed and you bring it to room temperature before brewing. Again, you don't want to bring the bag out of the freezer, dig around for a few cups, reseal the bag and repeat the next day. Keep a stash out to brew at room temp and keep reasonable portions sealed tightly in the freezer.
