New Coffee! This Burundi coffee from the Butezi Washing Station is one we have been excited to share. Coffee grown in Burundi is often from tiny lots, where the growers do not have the facilities to sort, blend, and process, so everything is brought to a communal location.
We roasted this coffee to highlight Burundi's unique flavors (often considered the Malbec of the coffee world). Coffee from Burundi typically has a heavy, figgy, fruity, nice balance of citrus acidity, with tea-like characteristics.
We wanted to highlight the playful side of this beautiful bean and bring out the brown sugar and the fruity side balanced with a mild structured tea-like acidity that makes it easy to drink and wonderful to enjoy.
This coffee is a proper medium roast, taken to full-city levels, where the roasty characteristics and the origin flavors meld.
